Animal Track and Uplands Kit

Recommended for grades 4-adult
Many different plants and animals live in the watershed outside the tidal boundaries of the estuary. This kit will guide students as they develop tracking and identification skills, learn about anatomy, adaptations, and behavior, and cultivate a greater appreciation for the interconnectedness of the entire watershed.

Activities:

  1. Nature Awareness - Learn how to watch wildlife.
  2. 9 animal track molds & 9 animal track replicas. (River otter, red fox, black bear, gray squirrel, wood duck, eagle, mountain lion, frog, great horned owl, flicker, coot, woodpecker, gopher, elk, coyote, beaver and opossum)
  3. Activity on Scat (still under development)
  4. Into the Forest, Nature's Food Chain Game. Ampersand Press. The winner of this game has earned the most energy points.
