SUMMARY:23rd Annual Children's Clean Water Festival
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer to support a Tillamook County tradition with another class of local 4th-grade students! \nYou are invited to the 23rd annual Children’s Clean Water Festival (CCWF) on Tuesday\, March 19th\, 2024 at Twin Rocks Friends Camp in Rockaway\, OR. Since 2001\, over 6\,000 students have participated in this annual event sponsored by TEP. This spring\, we hope you will join us for the fun Tillamook County tradition. \nLast year’s CCWF was a tree-mendous triumph! Students learned about king tides and Western Snowy Plover\, sculpted macroinvertebrates using modeling clay\, traveled through the water cycle as rain drops\, and more. When asked about their experience exploring a tidepool touch tank\, one student wrote\, “Today I learned that when sea cucumbers are scared\, they throw up their innards.” In total\, over 300 students\, teachers\, and chaperons from six different schools attended. To support all these students\, TEP recruited 83 volunteers for the 2023 CCWF. \nIn order to make this year’s festival an even bigger success\, we need volunteers just like you to fill a variety of roles. Whether you are keen to lead an activity\, or prefer to stay behind the scenes\, we have opportunities for you to help in a way that utilizes your skills and expertise. \nIf you are interested in volunteering\, please click here to fill out the CCWF 2024 Volunteer Application that is available on our website.
