Overall water quality in the Tillamook County watersheds is safe for recreational use. People recreating should be aware that levels of Escherichia coli (E. coli) in certain waterways can, at times, exceed permissible limits. The State of Oregon has set limits to the amount of the fecal bacteria E. coli that can occur in surface waters and still be safe for recreational contact such as swimming, boating and fishing. This map is a tool to understand recent E. coli levels around the Tillamook County waterways. More information can be obtained at the Tillamook Estuaries Partnership: 503-322-2222.
Tillamook Estuaries Partnership is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of Tillamook County's watersheds through active stewardship, scientific inquiry, community engagement, and education.
