We’re looking for a Native Plant Scientist to join the TEP team in Tillamook, OR.
Tillamook Estuaries Partnership is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration of Tillamook County’s estuaries and watersheds through active stewardship, scientific inquiry, community engagement, and education. Our native plant nursery is a key component of this mission, providing the genetically appropriate plant material that supports restoration efforts across the county and along the broader Oregon Coast. Each year, our nursery produces over 50,000 genetically appropriate native plants that are distributed to restoration projects. We collect wild seed from approximately 40 species, partner with regional programs like Seeds of Success and the Coastal Native Seed Partnership and work closely with our partners in the Northwest Oregon Restoration Partnership (NORP) to get our high-quality plant material into the ground where it’s needed most.
We are looking for a skilled botanist or horticulturist to steward our native plant nursery program and serve as the nursery’s primary source of horticultural and botanical expertise. The Native Plant Scientist will oversee all aspects of the propagation cycle, from field scouting and seed collection to transplanting and partner distribution, while also securing grant funding and developing protocols that improve plant quality and production efficiency.
Visit our website and social media to see the species we grow and the restoration projects our plants support!
In your application letter, please include a brief description of your experience with plant propagation or wild seed collection, including the species, scale, and your role in the process.
